Course Description
This course distils the essential language and standard library concepts —value categories, move semantics, lambdas, smart pointers, compile-time evaluation, templates, concurrency and STL updates—through clear theory, worked examples, and design guidance. Across structured 3-hour weekend sessions, participants will learn how to write cleaner, faster, and more maintainable C++ by embracing RAII, ownership models, compile time techniques, and modern idioms, culminating in confident use of containers, algorithms, and concurrency primitives in real projects

Requirements
Learner Pre-requisites
- Comfortable with basic programming concepts
- Prior exposure to C++ fundamentals (references, pointers, functions, basic templates, classes)
- Ability to read and understand simple C++ code
- Familiarity with using a code editor and compiler
- Basic understanding of object-oriented concepts
Hardware
- Laptop or desktop with 4+ cores, 16 GB RAM recommended, and SSD storage for quick builds and multitasking
- 1080p display (or dual monitors) for presentation & quick practice
- Headset with noise cancelling microphone to ensure clear audio during live sessions
- Stable broadband: at least 1.5mbps
Operating System
- Windows 10/11, macOS, or a mainstream Linux distro (Ubuntu LTS 20.04/22.04, RHEL 8/9, Fedora 36+)
Developer Tools
- One primary IDE: Visual Studio 2022 Community on Windows, or VS Code/CLion on any platform, Xcode on macOS
- Compilers: MSVC (via Visual Studio), GCC/Clang on Linux/macOS/WSL2
